This blog’s purpose is to share information about the history and current life of Kansas Mennonites in politics. I have been interested and active in Kansas politics all my life. My PhD dissertation, published as A People of Two Kingdoms early in my career as history teacher at Bethel College, told the story from immigration in the 1870s until World War II. Now, almost fifty years later, a second volume with the same title will appear in the C. H. Wedel Series at Bethel. Volume II takes the story from World War II to the present. I look forward to sharing revised excerpts from the two volumes, as well as my reflections and public presentations on topics ranging from the centennial celebrations of World War I to the current Kansas state budget crisis. If you are interested in Kansas Mennonites and their relationship to the public order, welcome to the conversation.
